Došlo pismo z Belovara, baš za tebe, draga Bara.
Pismo piše, o Barica, ostala si udovica.
Tvoga dragog više nema, pokrila ga crna zemlja.
A letter has arrived from the town of Belovar for you, dear Bara. The letter says you are a widow now.
Your sweetheart is no more, he is buried under the black earth. When young Bara heard the news, she
cried for three days, and started thinking on the fourth day. She kept thinking until she had no more
thoughts, and then she went looking for her grave. The earth is her bed, the clear skies her bedspread.
